Happy Barker FAQ's

The Federal Government is also doing its part, by creating strict guidelines for any product with organic labeling.

Organic labeling, however, is strictly monitored by the FDA and therefore, not subjective. Below is a brief list of terms to be aware of, and what they actually mean. For further information, please go to: www.ams.usda.gov/nop

  • 100% Organic - every single ingredient such as a fruit, vegetable, meat, milk and cheese (excludes water and salt) is organic.
  • Organic - multiple ingredient foods which are 95 to 100% organic.
  • Made With Organic Ingredients - 70% of the ingredients are organic. Can appear on the front of package, naming the specific ingredients.
  • Contains Organic Ingredients - contains less than 70% organic ingredients.

Also be aware of the Organic Certifying Agent Logo. Packaging that claims any level of Organic must display its certifying agency.
